#ThursdayTreeLove14: Boulevard of Dreams

We drove down these boulevard of beautiful trees, last month. These trees have been my travel companions ever since I was a child, as I have crossed them multiple times

But this particular homecoming happened after many, many decades. Lined on both sides of the road, these trees are ancient and are on the way to my birth place, Patnagar via Rudrupur on the Patthatchatta road, in Uttarakhand. They have always formed a beautiful canopy, their shadows deflecting the golden stream of sunlight. This boulevard of dreams took me way back in time, when I travelled this road with my parents. This when my Fathers drove his Maruti Omni, enroute a short shopping spree to Rudrupur, or I’d take a day trip to visit my dear friend, Ritu.

  1. Beautiful dear, i have always been fascinated by trees planted on either side of the road, looks so beautiful and inspiring, thank you for sharing !

  2. Such a pretty pic. Homecomings are always so special. I’m glad you had a good time revisiting memories. Old Bangalore also had these tree-lined canopies along the roads once. However, merciless felling of trees has preceded most of the construction work in and around the city, leaving most of its citizens unhappy over the loss of green cover today. Sad story everywhere.

    1. Oh I know what you are saying. Similar story here in NCR too. It’s so sad how we are mercilessly felling ancient trees to make way for brick and mortar! :((
