Christmas Carol: #FridayFictioneers

Christmas Carol: #FridayFictioneers

I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas,” Vivian hummed, as the barren tree outside the living room window stared back at her.

The icicles lent it a certain character, though.

Adriana, her sister was busy decorating the Christmas tree. Vivian’s twins were excitedly pitching in.

“Mommy, you got to see these new decorations, we bought this morning. They are stunning.”

Vivian, couldn’t care less. She continued to hum and capture the tree on camera.

She sent the picture to Aman who was currently sunning himself in Goa.

“That’s how I feel without you – barren, incomplete and frozen in time,” she texted.

  1. You’ve made Vivian cold towards her children – ‘couldn’t care less’ is very dismissive. I hope that Aman is her husband and not just a lover.
Come on, Vivian! Join in and enjoy Christmas with the kids!

    1. Penny I think you are the only one who interpreted the story in one of the ways I was trying to write it as, but yes I kept it tad dubious. Aman could actually be a lover.
Vivian is tad cold yes. Though she tries to soak in the spirit with her song. Guess she is selfish to her needs at the moment and the twins could do with some attention from her.
      Thank you for reading.

    1. Hey Arlee, Hellos!
Long time no see. Absolutely wonderful to have you stop by.
      :-))
Icicles are quite unique and beautiful in their own way. I guess Vivian had her own interpretation, stemming from her loneliness.
Thank you so much for reading and commenting.
Wishing you loads of festive cheer.

  2. Dear Natasha,

The holidays are tough without the one you love. You captured her loneliness in the midst of celebration well.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle
