{G} is for Goblins, Gnomes and Gypsy Spirits

In the narrow alleys of Delhi’s Sultanpur, you find a small, red, slightly flimsy iron door that leads to an enchanting getaway where goblins, gnomes and gypsy spirits frolic and play. The world beyond this tiny, red door is magical and is much like tumbling down the same rabbit hole that Alice did.

The door has a sign that reads:

“The path to spirituality is through the smallest door.” – Rene Mey

The getaway is called Abhibindu (Your Home to Wellness) and is an idyllic, serene space for transformational workshops, holistic wellness & training programs. It is hard to fathom that amidst the winding alleys of Delhi, lies a surreal place like Abhibindu that you can lose yourself to.

Abhibindu has a lush, sprawling garden dotted with Victorian benches. If you were to sit amidst the thicket of foliage, mindfully soaking in the serenity; you will definitely hear the goblins, gnomes, pixies and elves chatter and play. The tree house at Abhibindu stands graciously as the trees that surround it extend their branches, wrapping it in a warm hug. The multi-hued Petunias, Sylvias and a wide splash of colours rendered by myriad flowers create a magical canvas.

Abhibindu conducts many transformational and healing workshops. I usually go there to lose myself in my writing. The words begin to steadily flow, as I park myself at one of the benches amidst the verdant foliage, sip an aromatic mug of coffee and bite into a crunchy cookie. At times when I hear the leaves rustle, I imagine that the goblins, gnomes and pixies have probably stopped short to peek into my creative world. I continue to write, imbibing the magic that they swish upon me. Probably they are the ones who have induced my mind with some wicked potion and it’s gone on an over active, over imaginative drive. The words start gushing…

I attend an hour long dance meditation therapy at Abhibindu, where I meet other gypsy spirits like me. The goblin, gnomes and pixies probably watch us sway from the curtains behind and engage in their own trance. The food served at Abhibindu is vegan and wholesome. I choose to grab the opportunity to feast on it one afternoon, when I am on my way back home from Delhi.

If you are a gypsy spirit like me, maybe you would like to go visit Abhibindu, attend a workshop or two, or simply get lost in their magical garden with yourself; as the goblins, gnomes and other gypsy spirits watch over you.

This is not a sponsored post, but is written as part of my own beautiful experiences at Abhibindu.

My theme for this year’s Blogging from A-Z Challenge is April Anecdotes. These are twenty-six compelling tales of some real people, and some not so real people. These tales will be surreal, peppered with a dose of non-fiction, but some might just be a figment of my over active imagination. You can read my theme here.
