…lost and gained some

Cheering for the India-Pakistan World Cup Match, on a day that was not in my favour

  • Lost my precious furry child, Cotton; but gained a bundle of  love and sharp energy, in Mishka.

  • Lost weight as the winters wrapped into spring, but gained weight in summers. Thanks to fresh, delicious home cooked meals, and my love for sweets. My winter metabolism leans towards losing weight and summer metabolism towards gaining. Yes, I’m one-of-a-kind ! 😉

  • Lost myself to the bountiful nature that grows and flourishes boundlessly around us, despite all odds; all credits to my work profile and my walk buddies. Gained new experiences and fresh learnings from nature, wild life and the forests.

  • Shed some more of the pain related to my mother’s loss in 2018. Gained life lessons from being on an NDTV talk show with Lisa Ray this year, and reading her memoir Close to the Bone – her journey beyond cancer.

  • Lost the baggages that came from my conditioning;  the past, or the world’s belief systems at large.  Gained so much by re-learning Reiki, a beautiful module for healing, from a lovely person. Also continued practising Buddhism, (despite wanting to quit at one point). Buddhism helps me power through life’s little challenges and is my antidote to joy.

I look forward to the next six months of 2019, with anticipation, hope and a heart that is grateful for all the challenges. After all challenges are my stepping stone to transformation and a new me.

The next six months I shall:

  • Stick to mindful living.
  • Stick to mindful eating. I shall be breaking my “summer-winter” pattern by sticking to a healthier, local, no processed and low sugar diet that is sustainable.
  • Blog more often. My fever and sinus headache dimmed out, thanks to Zombie Blog Hop.
  • Walk, cycle and practise Yoga as diligently as I have been off late.
  • Give 100% to my job.
  • Read this wonderful book recommended by Damyanti, Writing Tools: Roy Peter Clark, as I have had to put my dream of signing up for a creative writing course on hold, once again.
  • Balance my time between family, friends, work and Buddhism, wisely.
  • Interact with people from a place of wisdom, and using a compassionate voice.

I think I’m sorted for the next six months. What do you say? How is 2019 looking for you? Are you planning on pushing your limits and working on making up for what you couldn’t, in the first six months? Or are you just taking each day as it comes?  I personally love the “Let it be” mantra too.

This truly was a Zombie blog hop! I woke up to the fact that my post was scheduled for today, only around 8, this evening. I was merrily sitting on my butt, nursing my fever and headache, thinking it was for the next Wednesday. When life throws such interesting curve balls, slip and slide and nail your destination. I nailed two. Got my #WW post out too. :)) I’m a happy bunny!

  1. Yes, we gain some, and lose some, Natasha! Loved your summing up post. I know it has been quite full for you on many counts but Knowing how positive you are, I trust you will make the most of the remaining half of 2019, no matter how many challenges come your way. My wishes and prayers for a year full of beauty, joy and happiness fir you and your lovely family! Keep sharing the Mishka videos. They are a hit in our home too! <3

  2. Hugs, Natasha. You gain some, you lose some. That’s what life is about, huh? I liked your sum up post. I wish you all the best to achieve everything you desire for in the coming days. ❤️

  3. Generally I’m the opposite of you and gain in the winter but lose in the summer but this year it’s been like you: lost in the winter and gained in the summer. ah well, that’s life. Everything is always changing.

  4. All the best for your goals, Natasha. I’ve lost more than I’ve gained, but I have learned to master the art of losing. Letting go is hard, but not impossible. Hope the book helps with your goals 🙂

  5. I loved the honesty in your post. There was depth and emotions. Some times hidden and some times, right there. I also loved that you share how do you want the rest of 2019 to look like. Good luck on that.
I always enjoy reading you and this post was no different. Mishka’s videos are a favorite at my place too. VT and I chuckled when she was being trained to sit.
Keep bringing joy through your words and keep inspiring through your life. Hugs!

    1. Parul thank you sooo much. You don’t know how much you inspire me

And I’m so glad VT and you are enjoying Mishka’s videos. Just posted a new one too.

Have a relaxed and blessed weekend

  6. Hi Natz,
The last few months have been like a roller coaster for you. I hope the rest of the year brings you a lot of joy, peace and a lot of blogging.

  7. How wonderfully you’ve summed up your life so far this year. I’m sure you are all sorted and the next six will go as per plan. Good luck and keep smiling

  8. Natasha,

I can’t believe half of the year has nearly slipped away. It’s wasting no time to pass us by, is it? Thanks for dropping in for a visit today. I joined your linky party. Here’s to coping and adjusting to whatever life brings your way. I need to the same in many areas of my life, too.
