The Artist’s Way: #WordlessWednesday #WednesdayWisdom

“Earth” without “Art” is just “eh”.

– Demetri Martin

Van Gogh - Holding placard
This picture says it all. I couldn’t find the origin of this image, therefore was unable to credit it. I don’t think it’s a self-portrait either, but it speaks volumes. It showcases the art that Mother Earth paints every single day with it’s myriad hues and the one’s we are inspired to re-create witnessing that spectacle. Today I am sharing  dramatic skies and nature close to our abode. No one does it the Artist’s way!
Sunset-Urban view
The Drama in the Skies: The skies have been up to some enchanting spectacle these days. After all it’s monsoons! They have been flirting with us unabashedly, with these awe-inspiring hues. The rains have washed away all the grime, pollutants and stickiness; opening out stunning vistas such as these.

Sunset-ochre sky
Here’s more drama from the skies as the artist paints it in ochre-violet hues.

Monsoon clouds- Sky view
When the nimbus clouds threaten to pour cats and dogs, and then change their mind.

Frangipanis - white
Artists who co-exist. The Frangipani and the Curry tree at my Father’s verdant home.

Gate-Home and trees
Gates of Wisdom: My parental home where the overarching theme is green. The azure skies illuminating yet another day. The floral delights are the cherry on the cake.

Adeniums
These Adeniums/Desert Roses were lovingly planted by Ma. They continue to adorn her home with their stunning hues. That’s the Artist’s way of showing us the way, you see!

Sky- Terrace
Our urban forest is no less enchanting these days. Dotted with wispy clouds and azure skies, the artist sure is busy painting a new drama every single day.

Calvin & Hobbes - C&H
Nobody says/does it better than Calvin. An artist all the way! :-))

The Artist’s Way

Nature is the biggest artist of all. Have you noticed the countless colours, designs, patterns, shapes, sizes it keeps showcasing in the form of its infinite inhabitants?

The multiple imageries and beings it puts forth to us is fascinating to say the least. No wonder: “Mother Earth is “eh” without her art.”

Rain and Its After-Effects

The monsoons arrived a forth night ago; finally. The petulant Summer had no other choice but to beat a retreat. As I put together this post, the skies are overcast and threatening to rain anytime now. It was a blessing to wake up to not just the pitter-patter of the rain, but the sounds of a heavy, gushing downpour.

I went for a short morning walk; soaking in the blessings of the gentle drizzle.

The only thing I prayed for as I walked today was that may the rains be kind to the inhabitants of this urban dwelling and keep them safe. The last time, I heard, an auto-rickshaw driver lost his life to a water-logged underpass.

The verdure landscape was soaking in the blessings. The birds hiding amidst the branches and bushes were chirping a melodious, joy song.

Our terrace and balconies of plants drenched in the rain showers, awash with the glorious blessings; are now nodding their heads in approval, as I type this.

A rainy day calls for Khichdi, one of my favourite comfort meals. It’s a one pot meal of lentils and rice, topped with loads of vegetables and simmered in a blend of Indian spices. Khichdi is like an everlasting, warm hug on a rainy day.

The “Artist” sure has a way of painting these delightful moments every single day. We are given this gift to watch the strokes of the paint brush at work, and open our eyes and heart; to embrace the abundance that flows.

Crediting the title of the post to none other than Julia Cameroon’s life-changing book, The Artist’s Way.

Wrapping up with a gentle reminder – “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong, along with a few spoken words from him, for people who might sometimes question this delightful song. (I have in the distant past, so I know that feeling!)

Warmest hugs amigos and amigas. <3

Be well, be joyous, and don’t forget to count the blessings galore.

The Artist watches over you. 🙂

  1. It’s Wednesday already? I hope you’re all having an excellent week so far! After a long day at work, what better way to relax than to wind down with some of my favorite quotes? There are few things more soothing than some positive words of wisdom. Sometimes all we need is a simple reminder that everything will be alright.

Thank you for swinging by and remember Bob Marley also sang,

  5. Natasha,

I’m skipping my Wild Wednesday post as I’m still on my semi-hiatus in Blogosphere. I hope to put together one for next week, though. It’s truly a wonderful world, is it not? The Great Artist knew what He was doing when He created this universe and all that in it. It’s clearly evident by all the beauty that surrounds us that makes me marvel and smile. Our heavenly Father, the creator of all is the architect, the artist of all our wonderful world! Thanks for sharing more glimpses of your mother’s garden. It’s lovely place to retreat. Have a phototastic day, my dear!
