Wheels of Time: #FridayFictioneers
I have been off the loop for a while, yes. Multiple things occupying my mind space. I’m not planing to quit blogging! Heck no. 🙂 That’s what keeps my sanity intact, you see. A few things need my attention more at this point of time, therefore the dwindling posts.
Though I wrote Friday Fictioneers on Friday itself, but I was traveling, so couldn’t post earlier than this. Meanwhile, I’m going to be writing my #MondayMusings post in a day or two, so please bear with the delay.
Hope you enjoy this one. Cheerio! And happy tidings. xox
WHEELS OF TIME
8-year-old Antara smiles, as she clutches on to her mother, Â Raima’s sleeve.
The ferris wheel tumbles through the vacant spaces; calling out longingly to the azure skies. And just like that dreams come spinning through the cosmos, tumbling into Antara’s, petite being.Â
She lets out an agonising cry.
Raima wraps her in a tight reassuring hug. “The ride’s almost over hon”Â
But the ride has just begun. Those blood curdling cries have come back to haunt little Antara.
A life time ago, a freak accident on the Ferris wheel; had reduced her and it’s occupants to ashes. Â

That was scary and with that summing up at the end. Coincidentally, I too recently published a post about my fears of such rides.
Oh yes, Parul, I saw that post of yours. No coincidences here, only synchronicity :)))
You scared the s out of me, Natasha. What a punch line. Well done!
Thank you Vidya. 🙂
What a twist to the tale. Very nicely done, Natasha!
I’ve been missing #FF but unable to join in for similar reasons as you just mentioned. Would love to join in for #MondayMusings but still not sure.
I’m waiting for your#MondayMusings post Esha. Let’s write it this time. :)))
Well written and frightening. I’m glad that I read it in the morning or I might have had nightmares. No more amusement park rides for me!
Please, Alice I don’t want to fuel your fears through my figment of imagination. 🙂 So do enjoy those heart pumping rides.
This scared me! Though I enjoy rides but also I always fear such accidents!
True. Accidents can happen anywhere, even while walking on the road. Thank you so much Nibha for swinging by. 🙂 <3
What a story! The ending was unexpected but sad. A creative stiry, loved it.
Thanks Sulekha. Probably she will conquer those demons too, like we all do.
The dreams came tumbling out of the cosmos. So was the freak accident real or a dream?
Real Penny. Unfortunately.
Nicely done. That’s a good twist at the end.
Thank you Subroto.
