Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday

The last few days have been awry and gloomy. I’m so glad for this opportunity to count the blessings around me, Thanks Brian for this prompt.

I’m thankful:

1. My father and in- laws are safe and sound in this long Covid lockdown. Though my in-laws did get Covid, and their recovery took time but they are fine. Can’t be more grateful for their enduring spirit. Touché,

I’m thankful for my Father’s resilience, of staying alone and managing everything on his own the last 4 years after Mum passed over and last year after my brother.

Touché and god bless these octogenarians immensely.

2. I travelled safely to two different destinations for family commitments. Came back fatigued, yet grateful I have the support system to manage when I was away. And yes, the energy to undertake these trips. I am also thankful that this trip was also a reminder to slow down the pace and tune in to the body more often.

2. The stunning spring blooms dotting the landscape of our neighbourhood and across different parts of the world. They inject me with peace, hope and joy.

This one is from the Sahyadri hills, at the younger daughter’s school.

4. Mishka and Laila, our furry children seem to be on the mend, after having an upset tummy last two days. I see them bouncing back to their energetic self.

5. Our daughters now close to tipping 14 and 24 are growing to be loving and caring individuals. Even when at times they test our patience to the T-eeth! 😉 It feels good to see them carve their paths in their own unique way.

6. Delicious meals on our table.

Aubergine and Kimchi unagi vegan style made by the 24 year-old vegan child. We also eat delicious Indian food for breakfast and lunch.

7. The sunflower seeds that the Ukrainian people gave the soldiers to show solidarity for their beloved land. Sunflower is their national flower and has been a symbol of peace, hope and love for their land.

8. My breath and a life though replete with curve balls, yet an abundance of blessings. Blessings that helps me rise like the phoenix from the ashes.

9. The DH who I don’t speak about much on my blog these days; but for his unstinting, silent and loving presence in my life.

10. Lastly, myself for riding all the storms like a unicorn and peeling the layers that no longer are mine to horde.

“Gratitude multiples good fortune” and this post is dedicated to all the love and abundance life has to offer.

  1. There is bountiful happiness all around us; I have often caught myself only focusing with all my head and heart of things that are beyond my control and things that certainly bring me down rather than embracing myself in the omnipresent joy that surrounds us, not that happiness that push us to extreme heights but subtle, the happiness that makes our heart glow and warm. Reading your post is a reminder to let go and ‘let it be’ (listening to The Beatles at the same time). True, there are so many examples all around us to remind us that life is yet beautiful.
Thank you for this post Natasha 🙂

  2. These thoughts of gratitude are moving.
I wish you all the best in your life, dear Natasha! Be healthy and together for as long as possible! <3 <3 <3
I hug you dearly! Big hugs! <3

P.S. I see the picture with Mishka, <3 but not the picture with Laila <3 (it's very possible because of my "technology")

    1. Dear dear Diana,

Can you see the image of Laila now?

Your love and good wishes mean much to me always.
Sending you good vibes, well being and all things blessed.✨

    1. That is so true. I sometimes feel there are more things to be grateful for than our troubles. We can look at the glass half full or half empty. ☺️

    1. Totally so dear Radhika.
Yes, living in gratitude can be life changing.

It’s interesting to see how so many young people are vegan.
They do truly care about the planet and there bodies know what suits them the best, as do they.
      How old is your son?
I was vegan for sometime last year, but now vegetarian. The complete transition will take a while I believe.
Especially since I was a hard-core meat eating Bengali. ☺️
