Walk a mile in my shoes

And I will teach you a lesson or two;

Of taking life in your stride

When the hooded snake of challenge strikes.

 

Walk a mile in my shoes

And I will teach you a lesson or two;

Of forging ahead with a smile,

Even though you may stumble once in a while.

 

Walk a mile in my shoes

And I will teach you a lesson or two;

Of living each moment as though it was your last,

For who knows when it will be time to lower your mast.

 

Walk a mile in my shoes

And I will teach you a lesson or two;

Of stopping by to smell the flowers,

And of not trying to rush through the hours.

 

Walk a mile in my shoes

And I will teach you a lesson or two;

Of never giving up on “You”,

For you have worked hard to earn your dues.

 

Walk a mile in my shoes

And I will teach you a lesson or two;

Of making this very life worthwhile,

For who knows whether or not you will walk this aisle.

 

 So, come with me and we’ll walk a mile in your shoes;

And you will teach yourself a lesson or two.
