G is for Gods Do the Darnest Things | #AtoZChallenge 2026

“Dogs are the leaders of the planet. If you see two life forms, one of them is a dog, the other one’s probably getting walked.” — Unknown

If there is one domestic animal that possess a remarkable god like energy, bunched up with humbleness, unconditional love, laughter and play; it would be dogs. Those of you who have four-legged wonder/s at home, are already aware of this pure God/dess energy.

Their joie de vivre is infectious. They ensure you wake up happy, even on days you don’t wish to.

We have two Gods at home: Mishka, an English Cocker Spaniel and Laila, our miniature Shitzu. 7 and 13 respectively.

Though people usually presume Mishka to be the older one because of her size. She possesses a certain Alpha energy, therefore many people take her to be a “he”, based on their gender assumptions! She could be a they/them too! Who cares.

Laila’s got her priorities right! Piggy backing and cuddling with Mishka when its cold.

The White God!

I return from my travels and notice Mishka is sulking at me, for some days. She turns down our usual snuggles, and stops crawling into the sofa with me, like she usually does. Doesn’t even co-sleep with us anymore, splayed over my pillow. She refuses to acknowledge, when I call out to her.

I wonder what I would have done, to make her so miffed and distant.

I finally ask, “Hey Mishki, wassup, hun? Why have you been ignoring me lately.”

Mishka, gives me a death stare and retorts,“You are always mollycoddling that “white dog”!”

For a fraction of a second I’m taken aback and wonder, “Which white dog?”

And then realisation dawns. She is referring to Laila. (Though Laila isn’t completely white, but does have patches of grey and black). I get the drift!

Laila has been spending time hanging around with me, after my trip. And we have been bonding a lot lately. More often than not, we don’t get to do this; as our big-little baby, M wants to hog all the limelight!

I want to laugh my head off at the “white dog” reference, but I notice Mishka giving me the side-eye. You have to live with a cocker to know, what those judgy, disapproving glances are all about!

Going forward, I find ways to divide my time equally with the two. I’s rather not be at the receiving end of those death stares and being totally ignored!

Laila the zen, with her favourite dumbell.

Side note:

A few of you asked, how do I speak to animals?

The answer is simple. Just the way you and I would communicate. You won’t hear a verbal auditory dialogue though when you talk to animals, but will receive information. Trust what you hear, and don’t pass it off to your over active imagination.

Start by asking yes and no questions. If you find it hard to recive an answer, ask again. You may even receive visuals, a feeling in your body part, or simple words, even in long form sentences, or a scent. After all we use all our five sense to communicate and listen.

The same principles of communication apply when you speak to a tree, plant or landscape.

I am participating in the April Blogging from A to Z Challenge 2026, and my theme is Nature’s Voice – Notes from Nature.

As a Telepathic Animal & Nature Communicator, and an avid nature lover, I receive plenty of messages and downloads from the animal and plant world, landscapes, water bodies, as well as aquatic life. I shall take you through a fascinating journey, where we shall connect and communicate with all things non-human, but as a humans. Together, we shall also appreciate nature’s offerings.

Telepathic Animal & Nature communication is an intuitive, two way exchange of information through words, emotions, feelings and images between humans and other species/nature. This transcends the barrier of a verbal dialogue and language, helping humans understand animals, nature (trees, landscapes, water bodies) and foster deeper connections. A professional Animal and Nature communicator is also known as an Animal and Nature Whisperer.
