Eight Things I’m Grateful for in July 2018: #GratitudeCircle #MondayMusings #mg

Eight Things I’m Grateful for in Jaunty July   July was pretty much uneventful, most parts of it; so I am assuming. But possibly I’m being partly judgemental. Judging my jaunty July without really considering the details-not a good idea! If I look deep into the recesses of the month, there was actually some interesting action and a chunk load of things to be grateful for. The month began on an unfettered note and continued to flow like an unbridled river.

Faith Can Move Mountains: #MondayMusings

Faith Can Move Mountains: #MondayMusings

What could possibly have prompted someone to  write this powerful quote: “Faith Can Move Mountains” ? The origin of this supremely motivating quote is from the holy Bible. It was recorded in the 1582 Rheims Bible, in Matthew XXI 21, as: “If you shall have faith, and stagger not, … and if you shall say to this mountain, throw thy self into the sea, it shall be done.” “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you,…

Thawing My Frosty February:#MondayMusings #MondayBlogs #GratitudeCircle

A quarter of a brand new year is over; almost. Yet, it seemed the shortest month of the year, was the longest. Simple ironies of life, you see. February reared its wicked head at me in more ways than one. But instead of bludgeoning it with the defeatist question, “Why me?” I looked it straight in the eye and said, “Try me!”

When the Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going:#MondayMusings

When the Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going:#MondayMusings

“When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” – Joseph P. Kennedy (1888-1969) These beautiful lines by Joseph P. Kennedy, Father of U.S. President John F.Kennedy, has been my mantra for life, for the longest I can even remember. Probably way back when I was in school. This quote speaks volumes, in such less words.  Life will keep challenging us every iota of a second, but we have to keep enduring and remaining strong, irrespective. Sometimes the curve balls…

Nurturing: #MondayMusings #WOTY

My #MondayMusings is late by a few days, but I’m traveling and I’m trying my best to be as “nurturing” as can be. After all that’s the Word of the Year #WOTY for me.  The amazing, Corinne of Write Tribe suggested we all have a Word of the Year, and I thought it was a  brilliant idea. I was unable to participate in the prompt on time, but then since I want to have a word to follow through in 2018, it…

Been There, Doon That: #MondayMusings

Yes, “Been there, Doon that!” Doon here reads as Dehradoon, the quaint, little city nestled in Uttarakhand’s, Himalayan Doon valley, about 30 kms away from the popular hill station, Moussourie. Recently I was at Dehradoon for the Valley of Words 2017,   an international literature and arts festival that was held in partnership with IndiBlogger. Indiblogger is a proactive blogging community that abides by the philosophy Blog Now, Live Forever #BNLF. Those three days at Dehradoon, attending some thought provoking sessions…

On Joy and Sorrow: #MondayMusings

On Joy and Sorrow: #MondayMusings

Khalil Gibran, On Joy and Sorrow Your joy is your sorrow unmasked. And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears. And how else can it be? The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain. Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter’s oven? And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed…

#MondayMusings: For The Love of Ink

#MondayMusings: For The Love of Ink

Last Sunday I went and got inked. For the fourth time. :-)) This time it was kind of impromptu. Though the 18-year-old had been toying with the idea of us getting inked together for a while now, I had been putting it off each time. I believe you have to be in a certain frame of mind to get inked. Call it adventurous, call it creatively inspired, call it welcoming a new addition to your body or just-for-the-kicks frame of…
