Bedazzled: #FridayFictioneers

“Hey Philipe! Guess what, the Art Fair is on this Sunday.” “Date?” says Matt, rather mysteriously over the phone. It has been over a fortnight since they last spoke. Their squabbles had become way too frequent, so they were taking time away.

Dreamy December in Olaulim Backyards: #WanderlustWednesday

We took a pre-Christmas break, lazing at the dreamy Olaulim Backyards, in Goa. Olaulim Backyards is a quaint homestay, run by the warm, gracious couple; Savio and Pirkko. Savio is Goan while Pirkko originally hails from Finland. Though she has  lived in Goa now for many decades. They live in the Backyards with their two lovely children, Manuel and Shameena and four adorable dogs, two stunning cats, a rescued, human donkey, Mantra and a very intelligent goat, Lilly.

Adieu 2017 With Deep Gratitude

Adieu 2017 With Deep Gratitude

Long Post Alert! But then how does one sum up a year in 100 words, without giving gratitude! 😉 It’s that time  of the year when many of us bloggers/writers write a reflective post on the year gone by. A year that left imprints in our hearts: some good, some not so good. But we chose to take forward the lessons and learning from both, don’t we? I’m bidding 2017 adieu with deep gratitude in my heart. We all know…

Christmas Carol: #FridayFictioneers

“I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas,” Vivian hummed, as the barren tree outside the living room window stared back at her. The icicles lent it a certain character, though.

Churu, Not Just a Quaint Town: By Gayatri Manchanda Exactly a year ago today, I, along with four other women travellers descended into the dense Namdhapa jungle in Arunachal Pradesh, to trek and camp in the wilderness for a week. When Natasha asked me to contribute a travel article on her blog’s anniversary, I was in the middle of reading her ebook Travel Epiphanies that journals her travel memoirs and that brought back many travel-related memories. I thought of sharing memoir…

And just like that we turned One today. Yayyy!!! One incredible year and 172 posts. I’m supremely thrilled and the icing on the cake,  my blogiversary celebrations are spilling over unexpectedly. Today I have a guest post from Geraint on his travel escapades in South Africa, tomorrow Gayatri has kindly agreed to bring to you yet another travel piece. This will be followed by  Nidhi’s out-of-the-box fiction. Who would have thought the celebrations would extend beyond a week! I’m so…

Our Life in Mauritius: #Blogiversary #MondayMusings #GuestPost

OUR LIFE IN MAURITIUS: BY ESHA MOOKERJEE-DUTTA The Move It all began when we were contemplating a move to Mauritius almost two decades ago. J had just accepted a job offer in the turquoise island, and each time I’d mention the name Mauritius, our friends and family would stare with their big round eyes and exclaim, “Really? Oh wow! You’re going to live in paradise!” So, though I knew they were right in some ways, a part of me would nudge me…

Matter of Tooth! :#Blogiversary #FridayFiction #GuestPost

Matter of Tooth!: By Varad ‘Please!’ I sputter and cough disgusting stuff into the gutter before looking at the repulsed passerby, ‘Point me to the nearest dentist.’ The scrawny, rag-clad man stares at me as if I had sprouted a second head. It was obvious that he did not understand a word of what I said. ‘Dentist! Please! Emergency!’ I gasp, gesticulating wildly. I’m dizzy with pain and hunger. It has been more than 24 hours since I’d last had…

Country Roads: #FridayFictioneers

My Thoughts on Seeing This Prompt: Yikes! I’m not going to write this one. It looks dark, gloomy and will not elude a great story. But then I haven’t written for my favourite Friday Fictioneers for the past two weeks. I was away traveling, and when I returned I got swamped by life’s little follies. I’m back this week armed with lots of cheer and sunshine on my shoulder. So let me give this a shot. Let’s see how it…

The Encounter: #FridayFictioneers

It’s a rare, sunny morning in Chicago. That special kind of morning when the sun streams right on to your shoulders, and your spirits are simply soaring. “What a memorable work trip,” thinks Sonia smugly. “I’ll grab a bite and then binge shop at Bloomingdales.”  She turns around to eye the building.     A gorgeous hunk stumbles into her, knocking some coffee on her brand new dress. Sonia gapes at his steel, blue eyes; mesmerised, not one bit upset….
