MysTree: #WriteBravely #WriteTribeProBlogger #FridayFictioneers
The ancient tree towers among the tropical vegetation of the Sands resort. It canopies the wooden benches, giving the guests a respite from the sunny days.
A pair of woodpeckers nest here every spring. But each time the fledglings die, leaving a trail of blood.
Also, what remains a mystery are the myriad stones that line the bottom of the tree. Legend says they were brought from the rocky beaches, by couples; wanting to seal their love eternally. While some say, their purpose was to invoke the deities that warded off the evil spirits. While some believe, they mysteriously appeared one Friday the Thirteenth night.

The legend of the stones, eh? It’s interesting how things take on meaning and mystery after a while, isn’t it?
The stones really look mystical,
Maniacal maybe 😛
I liked how you specially focussed on those stones in the pic. A lotta people would’ve missed that Better stay away from that mysterious tree though
Yeah, actually they are the ones that struck me first when I saw the picture. So I’m glad I did, as most people writing the prompt focussed on the other things around the tree. 🙂 Thank you Ryan for reading and commenting.
The legend of the stones sounds so scary! I love such interesting snippets of real life places and events. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for reading Vinodini
Definitely not sitting under that tree sipping a margerita! Mysterious tale Natasha
Ha ha! How about a Daiquiri, Lynn?
What a mysterious story, Natasha. Those stones sound intriguing, and it’s interesting I focussed on them too in my story. My second story. Along with the four elements, wood and stone have always intrigued mankind, haven’t they?
Oh yes, they so have. Thanks for reading and writing in Kelvin. Hope things are good at your end. Cheerio!
Dear Natasha,
It sounds like a good place to stay away from. Well done.
Shalom,
Rochelle
