“I Got Your Back” – Animal Instinct : #WordlessWednesday
This is from last night. Cotton and Laila have always co-existed. They ain’t best buddies. But I know they love each other, more than what meets the eye. A lesser known fact that got reiterated recently.
The other day Cotton, who has been severely sick for a while now, especially the last one week; stood near the bed where Laila was sitting. Laila instantly put her paws over Cotton, as if reassuring her saying, “Babes, I got your back.”
Cotton is old (thirteen) and has failing kidneys and liver, and we have absolutely no idea how long she will suffer. (It’s been over a year now) It is extremely heart-breaking to see her in pain.
But what really touched us was to see Laila, almost perched atop her back, giving her a reassuring pat. Cotton usually doesn’t allow her too much of proximity. But last night she just stood there, soaking in all the TLC.
P.S: Cotton is looking a lot better now. Fingers and toes, all crossed. Please say a prayer for her, whenever you can. Much gratitude. 🙂

This made me cry, Natasha. How much our dogs teach us! Hugs. ♥
I am sorry to hear about Cotton. Hugs to you and your family. I am sure this must be so hard. Love to you all and may Cotton find peace. She will also be a part of your heart.
I hope Laila is okay too. It must not be easy for her too.
I can see that you love your pups and that they care about each other! Thank you for visiting my blog and the nice comment. I will be joining in each week @ your W.W. link up! Be blessed.
The photos of the two canines expressing compassion are heartwarming. I will say a prayer for Cotton’s well being.
Aww! so cute and nice photos
Have a tanfabulous week 😉
Thanks for bouncing by 🙂
Big hugs for Cotton and loads of prayers for her! It is heartbreaking to see our loved ones in pain and I can completely feel how you and the family feel seeing her this way! You know one thing, she’s loved by everyone in the family and she is cared for, and you can give her as much love and affection as is possible to keep her happy and feel like she belongs here with you, for as long as she is around! The rest, sadly, is not in our hands! Looking at this picture I can say one thing—so much compassion and unconditional love comes from our four-legged friends that it can put us humans to shame, don’t you think?
Cute pups Natasha, and I love your quote.
So very sweet. There are a lot of examples of animals showing compassion; if only we humans could learn from them.
These are awesome pictures with so much meaning. My Apso died at the age of 18. By the time he became 18 he had developed a cataract, arthritis could not eat as his teeth had fallen. But I guess it was our love and his belief in us that he pulled it all along. I wish you all the luck and warmth with Cotton. Am sure she will be great.
Such a couple of sweeties! ♥ Dogs do sense when their companions, be they human or otherwise, aren’t feeling well. I’m glad to know Cotton is doing a little better now and hope there will be even more improvement. Sending hugs and love!
I’ve been thinking of Cotton ever since the last time we spoke and you had to take her to the vet. Big hugs and a huge prayer going up for her recovery.
And Laila is such a darling. How absolutely precious of her to do that!
What a very beautiful picture. Sending positive thoughts and prayers to Cotton. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
Awww…that’s such a touching picture! So moved by these babies and their love for each other.
Praying for dear Cotton and hope she feels better soon. Reminds me of Chikoo, when he was the same age, suffering from arthritis…I wish these babies never had to suffer in any way….
Hugs to you and to your babes, Natasha!
