Kitty and Pretty : Fiction

The starving kittens land up in the landlady’s home. We call them Kitty and Pretty. One of Pretty’s eye is gauged out; from being mauled by the local dogs. We help nurse them back to good health with a feast of Mackerels. Our vet visits regularly, to clean and dress Pretty’s wound. They live outdoors and respond to our whistles! Mrs. Ramos doesn’t like cats and orders them out. Pretty is whisked away in a gunny bag to Cuenca. Kitty…

“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”  Lao Tzu     Go slow to go fast. Slow and steady wins the race.   We’ve heard these adages time and again. Yet, when we live in a fast-paced, modern society, where everyone is bustling away to accomplish their tasks and pin their goals; these thoughts are put away in the back burner.  Having said that, Do you remember the beach holiday where you sat doing nothing, just watching the waves…

5 Lessons 2020 Has Taught Me: #TuesdayMotivation #MondayMusings

Who knows what we have today, we might not tomorrow. Including this precious life with our loved ones. Therefore It helps to hold on to sweet hope and joie de vivre. And make the moments count.

“Because I feel that, in the Heavens above / The angels, whispering to one another, / Can find, among their burning terms of love / None so devotional as that of ‘Mother’” Edgar Allen Poe My mother, Ma, as I’ve aways called her frolics somewhere across the rainbow. In a world which is free of pain and pandemics.   Two years back she made her onward journey, transcending the anguish and struggles the Big C had entrusted upon her. But she…

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow : #MondayBlogs

The pandemic sure is wrecking havoc globally,  but it definitely has begun to equip us with innumerable coping mechanisms and life-skills which we never imagined we would imbibe. Take for instance my DH. He prefers getting a hair-cut almost every 10 days or so. Given the enormity of the lockdown, there was no way a hair cut would have happened in the weeks to come. His hair had begun to grow like a fertile forest and he was finding it…
